December 2011 Dived with Zeavola. Often just me on the longtail boat. Jumbo was agreat divemaster, really nice guy. Loads of sea snakes for some reason and we did a lot of dives together and alone. World class

April 2006 just a couple of years after the Tsunami so vis was poor as a lot of silt still int he water - diving was OK though felt there were too many divers around...

November 2007 The dives near Phi-Phi Island are very good I saw my frist leopard shark.

March 2008 According to the dive guide there are only about 10 turtles around Koh Phi Phi so it was great to see one! Lots of clown fish and razor fish - plus saw a sea krait.

October 2007 Fantastic diving when the viz is good, particularly around the Bida islands. Can get crowded with dievrs from Phuket, Lanta and Phi Phi diving there - the Adventure Club use a fast RIB and get to sites early though, excellent conservation credentials and post-dive briefings too.

February 2003 Nice diving, sometimes a little crowded, but also a great place to spend your holiday

October 2005 Diving generally of a good standard. Lots and lots of dive centres on Phi Phi many of whom make false and extravagent claims for the things they all saw that day. Better to go with a small operation and get a more personal service.

October 2007 Lots of Lion fish, a few black tip reef sharks, a leopard shark, cuttle fish, Nudi branch, Mantis shrimp, lobster to name but a few. Some great dives!

December 2005 Saw 1 Manta Ray, although the DM with us was convinced we saw 3. It was actually the same one who swam round the rock 3 times. Water was choppy and vis not too good, but better than the previous day, when there was no vis and no mantas

January 2007 Excellent diving, generally good visiblity and a few strong currents.

Wreck Dives:

Here are the wreck dives we know of for Koh Phi Phi.

King Cruiser
Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews
The "King Cruiser" was on its normal route from Phuket to Phi Phi Island. Everything was business as usual until the ship all of a sudden hit an undersea rock, gently shuddered to a halt and began to take water in trough a hole in the port side hull of the catamarans twin hulls. Conveniently, the "King Cruiser" has seated itself in upright position in fairly shallow waters. The steering house hovers just 10 meters under the surface.

30m / 98ft
Accidental sinking: 04-May-1997 Wreck penetration is possible. Technical or decompression diving. More info...
Diver reviews for King Cruiser:
Partial penetration is still possible. The middle part of the hull has collapsed so full length penetration is not possible anymore but the forward and rear car deck are still stable. Thousand of fusiliers and snappers around the wreck. Scorpionfish are also abundant.

Penetration isn't possible as the govenment considers the structure unsafe
