August 2006 ** Bass Rock - West Side ** Evening/Dusk dive out of North Berwick harbour using Thistle BII. Dropped due south and dived north on the west side of the Bass Rock. Easy dive with no current and pleasant sea conditions. Sea temp was a warm 13 degrees C for Scotland. By the time we returned to harbour it was dark. Lots of sponges to see, lobsters, prawns, wrasse and pollock. Kelp is present in the shallows. Watch for the birds off the rock 'bombing' you!!!

June 2006 Just out of North Berwick Harbour. Dived on an ebbing tide and the current around Craigleith was fast to say the least. Dropped on the north side and drift dived to the southern side in just over 30minutes. Could be a better dive if no current and viz is good.

July 2006 More stairs to negotiate and slippery kelp covered rocks. Once in th water the diving to the left is quite good. Make sure you get the tides right and again the overall conditions need to be fair to good.

June 2005 There are so many options out of North Berwick harbour when on a boat. I have dived most of the rocks, i.e. Craigleith, Bass, the lamb, etc. By far my favourite is the North Side of Bass with loads of big rocks for stuff to hide under especially the lobbies. Only one problem can be the smell of bird crap, especially at Bass due to it being a bird reserve. Go and enjoy a weekend there!! There are lots to do including championship golf courses and concorde is not far away in the museum of flight.

May 2005 We set off from North Berwick on a lovely sunny morning for the 10 mile run to the May. It took us about 25 mins (pegasus is fast !!) The first dive was under the cliffs on the South West side. I saw 2 Octopus, which were the first I have ever saw. It was great.
