Great dive centre, lovely town to be based in, good food, nice hotel and amazing days trips -Wadi Rum and Petra. Diving is similar to Egypt but there are NO people... no crowds. Fabulous.

Boat diving opens up new opportunities here and maybe more wrecks will be found like the Taiyong. Now there are several centres offering boat diving

We used the charter from Manchester to Ovda via Luton(are all southerners so rude?) with Longwoods and crossed the Jordan/Isreal border on foot, much easier and more friendly than the crossing at TABA. Escorted 98% of the way however you can not even take a bottle of water in to Jordan as they wish you to buy there own from the corner shop after customs. Stayed at SAS Radisson magic hotel. Dived with Royal Diving Club. Transport is very good and the taxis are the cheapest i have ever used, you can wine and dine to any budget. The transfer between the two was very entertaining and i recommend that you say a prayer before travelling and then close your eyes! Royal Diving Club is one of the most relaxed dive centres i have ever been too. The staff accept your qualifications as written and treat you as the trained divers that you are. If you just want to stay on the house reef you can buudy up and just help yourself to as many cylinders as you want in a day(night dives extra). All dives well conducted and IMHO the Reef life at the moment is better than the other side of the gulf, however this may change with all the contruction taking place along the shoreline. GO SOON. Petra and Wadi Rum are a must. Would seriously think about going again when they open Aqaba airport to charters.

The Cedar pride came to rest almost perfectly on her starboard side at a depth of 28m to the seabed and, in the years since her sinking, has become a true extension to the local reef systems being colonised by all manner of truly outstandingly beautiful soft corals. Furthermore, she came to rest less than 150m from the shore and, being buoyed, is easily one of the best shore dives to be found anywhere. |

Lot of small fish,Lionfish, Pair of Boxfish, Clownfish and what and Trunchfish. Soft corals looked great in the sunshine. One of the best dives we did.
