October 2005 Port Hardy is the best cold water diving in the world--bar none-- and ranks better than most warm water destinations.

October 2002 This was my second trip, and I must mention that tring to dive in this area with someone who doesn't know the tides extremely well and the dive locations would be difficult. John really knows the area, where to find the Orca's, set up dives with dolphins and isn't a bad cook.

October 1997 Best cold water diving on earth!!!! All of our diving was done on Clavella with Captain John de Boeck who now runs Browning Pass Hideaway. A more knowledgable guide we have yet to meet ... RB

August 2005 Both operations were very nice to deal with and provided different services. I try to return when I can!

October 2005 Great vis, healthy marine life- gave my new digital system a workout! Hideaway was comfy and the food was great. We did 15 great boat dives in 4 days- John from the Hideaway KNOWS this area!

September 2005 The diving was fabulous! John was clearly an expert of the local waters and the marine and terrestrial life. Everyday was an adventure with so much wildlife to see!

May 1999 I used to be a DiveMaster for John from Browning Pass Hideaway. He is extremely aware of this environment. It is really so magical and definately a favorite place in my world. You're guaranteed to see something amazing both above and below.... Have Fun :o)

August 2004 Subtidal Goose (Leaf) Barnacles on ALL exposed sufaces below 15 M. Soft coral, anemones, various fantastic kelps, and a juvenile wolf eel twisted around the soft coral stalks! A great dive, run by a really good divemaster, John, from Browning Pass Hideaway... to dive the Fastest Tidal Current in the World! What an adventure!. Plus we dove Lou's Hole, absolutely covered by Gorgonian Coral and Basketstars. Awesome diving!

March 2005 More variety of life per M2 than anywhere I've been! Some sites had octopus every dive, some had wolf-eels every dive, all dives had lots of very photogenic invertebrates! Nudibranchs, rockfish, sculpins...WOW!
