Not commonly known as a dive destination, the Limassol area offers some excellent, and remarkably uncrowded, diving & snorkelling opportunities. Marine life is varied, and includes barracuda, grouper, moray eels, cuttle fish, cardinal & squirrel fish. Nudibranchs, star fish, and octopus are only a few of the numerous invertebrates found along the Limassol cost. It is not uncommon to see larger marine life, such as rays and dolphins, from April through October.

The dive centres in Limassol offer both shore and boat based diving, as well as operating regular boat safaris to the Akrotiri Peninsula and Fish Reserve for divers, snorkellers, and non-divers alike. Most dive centres provide free transportation from local hotels to the centres and sites in the Limassol area.

The other major attraction for divers has to be the 172m Ro-Ro ferry 'Zenobia', which sank at nearby Larnaca in 1980. With its payload of 105 articulated lorries onboard, resting intact at 45 metres, the 'Zenobia' is rated by many as one of the top ten dive sites in the world.

Additionally, Limassol offers plenty for the non-diver to do in this lively little town, with a wide variety of water sports, culture, ruins, clubs, bars, restaurants, and much, much more available.
