Kas is a small harbour town, just a 30 minute drive away from the beautiful fishing village of Kalkan on the Lycian coast. The closest airport is Dalaman or Antalya.

Diving is excellent in Kas and Kalkan, both of which have many dive centres to choose from. Experienced divers can do 'fast diving' by speed boat and beginners can take their courses from the shore.

The diving is excellent with a plane and ship wreck, reefs and walls to name but a few. You will see Groupers, Amberjack, Baracuda, Bonito, Parrot Fish, Sting Ray, Turtles and many more. The visibility is good at approx 20 metres.

The best time to visit this area is from April to November, with the hottest time being July and August. Winter diving is becoming available now and the water temperature never falls below 20deg celcius.

There are many historic sites to visit and the area is ideal for those who like to walk and take part in other adventure sports; waterskiing, jet skiing, canyoning, white water rafting and paragliding. The beaches are pretty good too, 6 years ago readers of a top U.K. broad sheet newspaper voted Patara Beach one of the best beaches in the world! Patara is a protected beach because the Loggerhead Turtles lay their eggs here, just a 45 minute drive from Kas and 20 minutes from Kalkan it is certainly worth a visit.

We hope you enjoy this wonderful part of our world.
