The Noosa Jew Shoal area off the Noosa National Park boasts 20 hectares of rock bommies and canyons covered with a diverse range of colorful hard and soft corals and is teeming with marine life including manta rays, nudibranchs, seasonal humpback whales and huge schools of fish. With sites like 'The Pinnacle' rising to 7 metres below the surface and 'The Caves' nestled in a maximum depth of 20 metres this enigmatic reef region is a divers paradise and only a quick 10 minute boat trip offshore. Sunshine Reef to the south of Jew Shoal offers more challenging deeper dives to 30 metres and is best known for its meandering coral strewn rock walls and resident coral trout, parrot and coral crayfish species as well as large visiting pelagics.

Noosa is at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast which as of August 2005 now lays claim to what may become Australia's premier wreck dive attraction. The ex-naval guided missile destroyer the Ex-HMAS Brisbane has been scuttled as a purpose built dive wreck about 5 nautical miles off Mooloolaba. With the main deck on 17 metres below the surface this is an amazingly accessible wreck dive for those with only Open Water certfication. Only 3 Sunshine Coast Operators have permits to dive the wreck so it is best to contact them ahead of time to secure a dive charter poistion.

Noosa itself is one of Queensland's premier holiday destinations. Located only an hour and a half's drive from Brisbane or 20 minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport this stunning coastal mecca offers a huge range of natural attractions, superb restaurants and a host of activities including surfing, fishing, kayaking, bush walking, sightseeing and biking just to name a few.
