Portsea is on the Mornington Peninsula and is a 90 min drive south of Melbourne with buses stopping right outside the local dive centre. Portsea is conveniently located with shops and the famous Portsea Hotel.

The marine wilderness of Portsea Pier and the nearby Port Phillip Heads offers world class diving and snorkelling for the novice to the experienced diver.

Portsea is in the heart of diving in Victoria and from Portsea Pier where the charter boats depart, you can do all the dives inside and outside the Heads. From World War 1 submarines to early 19th century ship wrecks; magnificent drop-offs; reefs abundant with fish life; scallops; crayfish plus much more. Portsea has over 50 dive sites to choose from.

The diving in this area is varied with visibility ranging from 10-20 metres all year round and a an average water tempurature of 14-21 degrees.

There is plenty to do around Portsea when you are not diving. The area is littered with wineries and there are many restaurants and hotels where you can sample local seafood and produce cooked to 5 star quality.
