Les Escoumins is situated along the St-Lawrence River in the province of Quebec, Canada. The diving is done from the shore at the Centre de Découverte du Milieu Marin (CDMM) Park Canada and a 10.00$ park fee has to be paid. Beside diving in the summer, it is possible to observe whale, beluga and seal by boat or kayak. To get to Les Escoumins by car from the city of Québec you have to drive east on route 138, from the USA: I95 north, then route 1 to Edmunston, N.B., then route 185 to Rivière du loup, QC., then the ferry to St-Siméon and route 138 east to Les Escoumins. The diving is done in dry suit as the water is always very cold (38 degre F ou 4 degre C), it is possible to see cold water fish, atlantique wofl ell, the bottom is cover with amemones. There is a very good hotel Complexe Hotelier Pelchat and many small restaurant. The best time to go is from mid may to mid september, but it is possible to dive year round. At the CDMM it is possible to get a guide to help first time diver. 30 miles west of Les Escoumins there the city of Tadoussac to visit. On the south shore of the St-Lawrence River at the city of Rimouski there is a museum on the Empress of Ireland that sank in 1914 and it is possible to dive on a new wreck the Nepigon.
