Diving and snorkeling is really good. Actually, it depends in what area you do it. The isle is divided into two main areas: northern and southern. On the north you'll find that even on land the flora is completely different from the south. Under water you'll find a lot of sea weed, interrupted occasionally by some live rock. Runts, lain snappers and stone crabs sholdn't be too hard to find, basically they are the biggest population in the whole area. there's also mutton snappers, cubera, hog snappers, barracudas, shiners, and if you're lucky...a lobster yet to be cought. There's not a very big variety of flora and fauna, but it's interesting. I wuoldn't recomend diving, but snorkeling, because depth is just 10 to 15 feet at the most.
If you're looking for some really good diving, spearfishing, and unforgettable views, start in a place called 'punta del este' and end in 'el cayuelo' which is a little past 'punta del este' to the west. It'll take you a long time to cover the area, so you'll have to decide what place to dive, but it doesn't matter where it'll be great.
