Poole Harbour is the second biggest Natural Harbour in the world and as such has a wide range of diving for all levels, from deep wrecks to some as shallow as 4m. There are also rock pinnicles in the bay which act as reefs for wildlife, and also good drift diving.

If the wind isn't from a favorable direction its just a short hop in the car to Swanage or Kimmeridge both of which have good diving, or even a trip to Chesil beach in Portland if the wind is easterly. There is always plenty of marine life about, from common fish like Bass, Plaice etc to John Dorys, Pipe Fish, Trigger Fish and if you are lucky you might see a Seahorse!!,

Visabilty ranges from 4 to as much as 10m in the summer. As Poole bay is generally shallow (10m) the water tends to warm up quite quickly. There are plenty of dive shops to get fills and spairs and more than enough charter boats and skippers willing to take divers out. In the town there is lots to do, with waterfront Museums, or smugglers tours in the eveining, plenty of good places to eat, on non diving days there are Cinemas, water parks etc. Enough to keep everyone happy.
