Lundy Island is located in the Bristol Channel about an hour and a half’s boat ride from Ilfracombe, Deven. It is possible to stay on the island they also have a camping ground for the more adventurous. We decided to base ourselves from Ifracombe, using one of the local dive boats as our dive platform for the weekend. The main reason for wanting to dive around Lundy was opportunity to dive with the Lundy Seals. We were not disappointed the interaction with the seals is just magic.
Lundy has some serious tides so you will want local knowledge and have planed well in advance before diving. If you are heading out for the seals they get more playful as the dive season continues. There is no need for deep diving as the must fun can be had between 2 and 10 meters in the kelp fields.
