Stayed at Laguna Redang resort. World class diving and dive school excellent and quiet. Were often the only 2 people on the boat. Many different species of fish and coral to be seen. Visibility not bad - about 15m most days. Water very warm. A lot of coral damage by tourists on house reef which was sad. Not much to do on the island other than diving and the island was very, very busy (it was still low season) with tourists from china. Hence beaches were crowded and evenings noisy until late. Great as a diving/snorkelling holiday but not if you want honeymoon/privacy and peace and quiet.

Our second trip to Redang, alot more strong currents this time so dive sites selected to try and allow for currents making drift dives or light current dives. A couple of dives had strong currents to swim into which were not really suitable for novices. Would recommend checking in advance if diving in currents does not suit you. Otherwise very enjoyable trip, stayed at Berjaya Redang Beach Resort, very comfortable and good selection of food. Dive Centre very good. Saw numerous Moray eels, black-tipped reef sharks, sting rays, turtles, wide variety of reef fish. Would recommend a trip again

Stayed at Berjaya Redang Beach Resort, v.comfortable, nice facilities, good value meals from menu and self service buffet. Dive centre v.v.friendly, good dive brief before starting each dive. Enjoyed an exhilarating night dive on our first night, the Dive Guide made sure each dive was different during our stay and received a map of island with our dives marked to keep in log-book. Would definately consider returning, trip was v.good value for money. Dive centre has A-clamp cylinders but were able to source DIN tanks by the next day; we had taken adaptors so they came in useful for the first couple of dives. If not diving or snorkelling, then an island tour or jungle trek were available but not alot else,
Wide variety of reef fish, need a bigger reference book! Also numerous turtles, pufferfish, nudibranches, rays, triggerfish and our first black-tipped reef shark!

I stayed at Berjaya Redang Beach Resort which has it's own private beach and excellent house reef, good dive facilities (no nitrox) 2 boats (max15 persons) 3 dives per day,2morning,1 afternoon, all dive sites within 20 min sailing, suitable for all levels, very cheap diving, food average, but cheap, nothing else to do but dive or relax on the beach, going back in july 2006.

Idyllic uncrowded island. Nothing to do here except dive, snorkel or relax on the beach. Non-divers who we met weren't having much fun... especially since our low-end resort (Redang Lagoon) was very basic, with below par food. No shops to buy your own here. Interesting snorkelling right off the beach - six young white tip reef sharks, bumphead parrotfish. I would definitely go back, but would pay the extra for better accommodation.
