August 2012 Shore diving was not as good as Bonaire. Lots of crime on the island. You did not feel safe leaving your car parked while you went for a dive. Had to go to a beach where you pay for a armed security guard to watch your car. I have been to a lot of islands and this is the only island I will never return to.

April 2010 Big Animal Encounter was awesome. Hand fed Lemon and Nurse Sharks, Loggerhead Turtles, and Rays.

November 2007 We will continue to return to Curacao each year. The weather is great, the people are better. Diving is excellent each year.

May 2000 My visit was 8 years ago and my memory may be shady on some of the details, but it was some great diving almost anywhere you went!

January 2008 We dove with Ocean Encounters-they did a great job. It was my first ocean diving so I can't really compare to anywhere else but I certainly don't have anything to complain about.

October 2006 Ok for a 1-off visit but as experienced divers we did not find the diving challeging or adventurous even though we hired a car and planned our own shore diving itinery. We used Easy Dive's boat out of Habitat for 1 day to do the mushroom forrest. Great dive centre and boat. Don't plan to go back. Bonnaire was better for diving IMHO.

January 2006 Again, I dived with the Dive Bus....absoultely superb. I'm not sure about the previous review about Curacao being unfriendly....in fact I would say the opposite. Everyone is happy to help, offer advice and guidance. Well, we had a superb time...the diving was excellent as ever. We travelled the island with The Dive Bus but also did our own little trips to the secluded beaches (ask for pointers for the best ones). The dive operation has made some changes since the last report I wrote and their shop looks really cool now. Diving on the house reef is great with some superb wreckage offering some great chances to see lots of huge crab, lobsters, green morays, eagle rays, tarpon etc. Great night diving on this car pile wreck too. We'd like to thanks Mark and Suzy gaian for a wonderful time, great entertainment and for dive guides second to none.

July 2005 If you only intend to dive - ok, otherwise this was the most unfriendly Carribean island we've been to. I would not recommend it to anyone - I would go out of my way to discourage it.

Wreck Dives:

Here are the wreck dives we know of for Curacao.

Superior Producer
Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews
In September, 1977 Superior Producer left the Santa Anna Bay in Willemstad loaded with goods bound for Columbia. Immediately outside the harbor, heavy seas shifted the cargo and the ship began to take on water. Unable to save her, workers towed the ship away from the channel, letting her sink in her current location. Roughly 200 feet long, you’ll find this wreck sitting upright on a sand plateau between two reefs. The hull sits in 100 feet of water, with the bridge at 80 feet.
22m / 72ft
35m / 115ft
Accidental sinking: 01-Dec-1977 Wreck penetration is possible. Technical or decompression diving. More info...
Diver reviews for Superior Producer:
Easily accessible wreck, diving from the shore adds to the ease of reaching it! Yes the reef swim back adds as a good relaxation period after the wreck. Just be wary of heavy surf on entry and exit!

A diver friendly wreck, accessable from the shore with a pleasant reef swim back. Able to access all parts of the wreck.
