My kids and I dived Antigua in April 2006 to complete their PADI Junior Open Water qualification by referal. As the kids are limited to 12 metres, we stayed on the inner part of Cades reef.

This did not limit the quality of the diving! Both Lemon Ridge and Monks Head are excellent dives. During our seven dives we encountered countless reef species including lobsters, french angels, and a trio of trunk fish that danced for my video camera. We had close encounters with Stingrays and barracuda and were given an honour guard by a pair of hawksbill turtles on our final dive.

The dive center collected us from the beach at Cocobay each morning and returned us there too.

There's loads to do on Antigua and the locals are extremely friendly. A stroll around the bling shops and mini bazaar in St. Johns is worthwhile.

JC Bird Airport is a bit third-world but this is my only negative comment on the entire holiday.
