NDC the National Diving & Activity Centre in Chepstow.

This ex-quarry is a large site and is popular with Divers and Free-divers alike, probably due to the cracking visibility (I have had viz over 15 meters) and also with its max depth of 80 meters. Many divers taking technical courses come here to train. For divers that enjoy wrecks there are plenty to look at from planes, helicopters, truck, etc.

Facilities are good and the site can supply anything up to 100% O2 and helium as well as almost any other diver needs, hot food and drink is also sold on site. Clean changing rooms and toilets are available, unlike Stoney Cove, NDC does not get as busy, but has no end of parking space. Trolleys are available to move twin tanks around the site.

Finding the site is not too hard, its easily reachable off the motorway but the signage of the site is not great so keep your eyes open.

Due to the diving being down the quarry drive, site buses operate to carry divers and their gear down and up from the dive platforms… So make sure you have everything before you get in, else you’ll have to come all the way back!
