Most visitors to Jamaica arrive at the airport in Montego Bay, the tourist capital of the island. Others may arrive by cruise ship and stay only a day.

Diving and many other activities in and around Montego Bay, can easily fill a holliday of any length. The marine park of Mo-Bay has a large variety of dive sites, vertical drop-offs, shallow grove reef diving and an assortment of caverns. Some hotels offer the diving as part of all-inclusive package with one or two dives per day or an introduction course for non-divers. Independent dive-operations offer the full range of comprehensive training up to Divemaster level. Several U.S. based training agencies are represented by instructors, with PADI having the most affiliates and NAUI beeing a close second.

All dives offered to visitors are guided by a licensed guide, having at least a divemaster certification and all boats carry First Aid Kid and Oxygen on board. No tanks or equipment rent for unsupervised dives. Visitors must have an international recognized certification card. If you forgot it and it cannot be confirmed by the certification agency, you will be required to attend introduction class before being allowed on shallow dives. If you have not been diving for the last 2 years, an operator may request a pool or shallow water review. No dive is allowed to exceed 100ft / 30m.

Top-side activities in and around Montego Bay include a visit to one of many greathouses, river rafting, horseback riding, bird feeding stations and of course other watersports activities like sailing windsurfing or jet-ski.
