July 2004 The shore and boat diving around Cabo de Palos is not bad at all for the Med. We've dived there in Feb, July, August and November and always had fun. Definately a good place to go for a short weekend break or even a 2 week summer holiday.

June 2003 Good mediterranean place for diving and after-diving, great food, friendly people and of course, spanish-nights in summer.

Wreck Dives:

Here are the wreck dives we know of for Murcia.

Isla Gomera
Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews
More commonly known as El Naranjito due to its final, fatal cargo - thousands of oranges. These violently shifted in a storm causing the boat to list and take on water whilst the majority of the crew swam to the shore the Isla Gomera slowly slipped under the sea. At present it sits upright with the propeller on the sand floor on a maximum depth of 42 m. (137 feet) It is about 1.8 miles off Cabo de Palos. (La Manga, Murcia) Only for experienced divers because of very strong currents.
30m / 98ft
42m / 138ft
Accidental sinking: 01-Jan-1946 Wreck penetration is possible. Technical or decompression diving. More info...
