The people love to take you to the beautiful divespots near Pulau Kapas. Check the internet for resorts on the island, or check Gem Island resort, the best resort nearby Pulau Kapas (10 minutes by boat). We have been to Gem Island resort and booked the diving over there. They called Zainal, and then the boat will pick you up. You can also get youre Padi courses (Open Water -Advanched, Resque Diver etc.)
Fish I spotted (just checked my logbook): cuttle fish (making love), ribbontail ray, big porcupine, white eye moray, mangrove ray, durban hinge-break shrimps, nurse shark, raisorfish, sadleback anemone fish, blue spotted stingray, blackfin soldierfish, angelfish, hawksbil turtle, stone fish, scorpionfish, lionfish, nudibranches in may different colors and many more 'common' fish. Also many different corals. There is a Thai wreck nearby at 30mtrs.
The best time to dive is in the summer (from October till March closed). In August more rain in the afternoon, so the visibility is a little less (still 10-12 mrts). But then the diveteam shows you more things than only fish: cowry's under cover ;-) and nuddibranches. They make every dive, a good dive for you.
On Kapas and Gem Island is relaxing the best thing to do. If you want more, go to the other islands (Perhentian Besar) with many more tourists.
