July 2010 Dive 9 in 'Top 100 British Shore Dives' (Anita Sherwood). Supposedly a top drift dive under the bridge. We dived at the turn of the tide (high) and there was disappointingly little drift. Ended up swimming. Lots of kelp and, as you get about 40m beyond the bridge (out to sea) a sheer carpet of brittlestars, which is very spectacular. Nevertheless will be remembered for being the drift dive with no drift!

November 2004 ** Dunollie Castle ** A slight current experienced and low viz. Surface current much stronger than current at depth. Two dives of the day were training dives so not much time for sight-seeing and exploration. Sea life noted; scallops, pipe fish, hermit ane hermit crabs!

September 2006 ** Bach Island - Firth of Lorne ** The second boat dive of the day. On the way back to Oban from Lochaline. Quite showery conditions and due to slight breeze the surface conditions of the sea a little rough but not bad. Drop off the southern side of the island and dropped to 25metres. Wall at 25metres covered in various sponges. Water temperature was 14 degrees C. DSMB required for boat cover to spot divers.
