September 2010 Great place to dive for clear cold water diving and food collecting! not much fish to but plenty of shellfish to see. Plenty of shore diving as well as boat diving, and a good place to head out to the island of Aran.

February 2010 Good dove at the MOD site on the south side of the loch. Entered water on slipway and went straight in. Floor is teeming with norwegian lobster (scampi/dublin bay prawns) and was able to snaffle a few for the pot - delicious. No shortage here! Seems to be a lobster pot out there dropped off by a resident whose fish bait was seemingly being devoured by a multitude of small crabs. Lots of small fish in the water, but nothing sizeable. Water pretty clear but quite dark as it was an overcast day.

December 2007 Great site for easy entrance & exit for dive. Good for beginners, & trainees. Small reefs off to both right side and left side of jetty. Varied reports back from different divers of sealife.

March 2007 *** Garden Centre, Club Dive *** An overcast windy day but still out diving :-) Loch Fyne busy and ended up at the above location. 2 dives done, the first to the right side and the second to the left side. Usual Loch Fyne sea life suspects seen: crabs, hermit crabs, queenies, scallops, squat lobsters. Second dive was very similar to that of the first with sponges now seen. Looking forward to summer once the water temperature jhas warmed up. Water temp - 8 degrees C.

April 2007 *** Rocky Point, Club Dive *** Beautiful day up Loch Fyne direction and the club was out diving. 2 dives for the day. Viz was not good but not that bad either, within reason, average for the time of year. No current to speak of and a good dive. Sea life; brown dab, queenies, scallops, hermit crabs, nudibranches, crabs, tube worms and dog fish. 2nd dive was further down the road where we encountered a school of dogfish a lone red coloured gurnard.

April 2007 ROCKY POINT- club dive at relatively new site due to Loch being extremely busy, as it was a glorious sunny day!!!:) This site is a small slip road to the right (used by fishermen) just before Lephin Chapel. It is a small bay area, it looks great for a club dive but would stay well away, as all divers who dived on the day reported back that there was virtually nothing to see but sand!!!! If contimplating going, don't, that's all I will say.

February 2007 ** Kenmore Point, club dive ** Day was relatively dry with occasional showers and slight breeze. No currents nor waves. Water temperature was 10 degrees C. 2 dives done with conditions remaining similar apart from the change in tide going from flooding to ebbing. Sea life: dogfish, urchins, crabs, hermit crabs, squat lobsters, spider crabs, juvenile scorpion fish, sea cucumbers & sponges. A fair amount of juvenile fish around. Both dives were around the far side of Kenmore Point and is fair walk. Sea bed composition drops off a fair bit so buoyancy control is required. GPS co-ordinates: N: 56.17263 degrees W: 5.11920 degrees

February 2007 ** Rocky Point, club dive ** Day turned out nicely despite the weather forecast for snow and rain. Day was dry and wind free as was the water. No currents nor waves. Water temperature was 9 degrees C. 2 dives done with conditions remaining similar apart from the change in tide going from ebbing to flooding. Sea life: nudibranches, crabs, hermit crabs, squat lobsters, spider crabs, sea cucumbers, sponges, scallops and quennies. A fair amount of juvenile fish around. Bottom composition is very clay like and can get quite silty if kicked up of through poor buoyancy. GPS co-ordinates can be supplied if required.

September 2006 **South Gortien** great dive! viz not bad. Park at side of road - wee bit of climb down enbankment but worth it. Saw lots of dogfish, flatfish, spidercrabs. Well recommended!!!

June 2006 ** Furnace Quarry ** Dived towards the end of June - a little disappointing, the weather was perfect, Loch was like a mirror, sun shining but the viz was extremley low and definitely requried a torch. Not much life either. Site is good for training due to shelter that the bay provides. Parking is good if the quarry allow you access. Please be nice and clean up after you for the benefit of all divers - thank you!! :-)
