Diving is very different compared to South Male atol. Some have said the Lankan is the same as Manta Point, the whole reef infront of the resort Paradise is Lankan reef, before the area knowns as manta point you have lankan caves.

First learnt to dive here, have been many other places since, but non come close to the maldives for varity, number and size of fish. Saw rays and turtles every dive. many differnt types of eels, puffers etc. Saw 6 manta rays and 4 turtles on one dive to Lankan out / reef also called manta point - this dive site is a must.

The "Maldives Victory" is a 110-meter long cargo vessel that sank in February 1981. She ploughed full tilt into the reef ringing Male Airport more than 20 years ago. Her crew all survived the impact, and the wreck quickly became a new diving attraction. You can shelter from the current in the two open holds or stay outside and explore the bridge and accommodation. |

reviews for Maldives Victory: |
Good dive, but there was such a current it actually ripped my buddies mask off and we really had to watch our air as it was quite a struggle to stay on the guide rope. A really good dive and came out exhilarated. Dived it with Dive Bandon, who are a good outfit!

I dived this wreck in November2004 and on that occasion the current was running at about 4-5 knots so we had to jump into the water holding a rope and dragged to the guide line by the boat crew. We returned to the maldives the following November and turned down the chance to dive it again, but this time the water was flat calm. Oh well that's diving for you.

We dived this only a few weeks ago. It was a superb dive and visibility was excellent. I would say this is only suitable for AOW divers, just becuase of the 30m depth of the bottom of the wreck. If you are in the Maldives, do this dive.

The vis is great and there is loads to see in and around the wreck, it is easy to make penetration, but due to its depth and what can be a very strong current rappidly I would say only best dived by those with experiance.
If you enter the front hold you should be able to see the letters still clearly visiable on the books and letters scattered about. All in all Nice wreck.

A fantastic wreck sat almost bolt upright in cristal clear water. Although it is suitable for most it is quite deep (30m+ to the bottom of the first hold) and the current can be strong at times. The accomadation and bridge sections are very easy to penetrate and have some nice soft corals inside along with plenty of fish.
