Great diving with some really strong currents bringing in massive pelagic sharks and rays.

Absolutely fantastic. Dived with Sun Divers out of Olhuveli (thanks guys!). Dolphine led the boat to the site, very strong current and sharks everywhere - whitetips, blacktip, nurse and an enormous grey shark that checked us out closely. manta in the diatance, 4 or 5 turtles. Thermoclines, washing-machine currents, hordes of life. Fantastic

Diving in soputh male provides you with some very nice drift dives, nice channel dives, interesting outer reefs, and inside the atol some shallow reefs such as the giris ie Waagiri... K.Thila is a must, great place to see Grey Reef Sharks. Mantas can also be seen here, and we did spot a whale shark on Kandooma Beru

Fantastic diving, vast amounts of differing wildelife with good visibility, some reefs had very strong currents which attract the pelagic fish

Dived from Biyadhoo with ocean dive - 17 sites but you double this depending on which way the current ran. Island had brilliant house reef which could be dived as well as snorkelled

I did my open water in the Maldives and have to say that it rather spoilt me. I came away thinking every dive would have sharks, turtles, giant morays and Napoleon Wrasse. Stoney Cove has since dispelled that somewhat! The diving is fantastic in the Maldives; exhilirating drifts, fascinating Macro life, and pelagics in abundance. Unfortunately El Nino had decimated a lot of coral although this did not seem to affect the resident marine life and evidence of considerable regeneration was clear at most sites. I understand that the reefs continue to flourish.
My biggest beef with diving in the Maldives is cost. Keep a close eye on your bill and watch for add ons such as the boat rides as they are often charged seperately by the resort. It is very easy for the charges to escalate as the diving is like a drug, and you always want one more.

Most undersea life ever seen in one dive in the quality and quantity of the reef and fish on and around it
