This is a very cool shallow dive. Depth was 24 ft which allowed plenty of bottom time. Wreck is spread out with lots of life to photograph.

Using Private Diving.com to book a private dive. They were the best that I have ever used. Great service and great divers.

Some good dives, but they were all short dives (max 45 mins) irrespective of air consumption - Mermaid Divers did not cater for people with more experience - a pity!

apart from diving, can enjoy yourself for a couple of days touring island in 4x4, and lots of nice resturants for evening meals.

as stated above, good wreck diving, easy diving, not too deep, took my 14 year old, can get kind of rough on the boat at times, went with Mermaid Sport Divers, good outfit.

Good easy diving, plenty of wrecks in good condition, ideal for novice /casual dives. Plenty of wildlife and good dive centres.

The largest wreck in the South Caribbean, the Antilla, was a German freighter confiscated at the start of World War II. The German crew opened its valves and let it sink rather than be confiscated. This is a very popular day or night dive site, where everything that lives under the sea can be seen. You can pose for a photograph in the Captains bathtub, which lies beside the wreck. |

Visibility a bit iffy due to the large number of divers. Best go first dive in the morning before the madding crowd. Wreck penetration is OK for advancded divers.

The fascinating wreck of the California is located at a depth that is ideal for underwater photography. The wreck is surrounded by large coral formations and by an abundance of tropical fish. Because it is located in the dangerously choppy water and strong currents of the islands windward side, the wreck of the California is only for advanced divers. |

The wreck of the Pedernales, an oil tanker torpedoed by a German submarine during the last World War, is a paradise for beginning divers. The wrecks several large pieces are spread out between coral formations, making visible the complete wreck cabins, wash basins, lavatories, etc., as well as the tankers pipeline system. The wreck of the Pedernales was cut into three pieces by the U.S. military during the war. The center piece, damaged by the torpedo, was left behind, and the two endpieces were towed to the U.S. and welded together into a smaller vessel. The new ship was a part of the Normandy invasion fleet. The area around the Pedernales wreck is known for its many types of groupers and its bounty of angel fish. |
