Dove with Sam's Tours, they were good, but think they could have organized better so that people could do the dives they wanted to do before they left...Also had torrential rains half the week we were there that spoiled the visibility a bit. The reef hook experience was an adrenaline rush! Saw so many sharks that after a few days I was looking to see something else! Blue Corner was great; white-tip sharks, grey sharks, napoleon wrasse, potato cod, leaf scorpion fish, a herd of humpheaded parrotfish, eels, etc! Also saw pods of dolphins almost everyday on the boat ride to the next dive site. Had a blast snorkeling our last day at Jelly fish lake, coral garden, clam city, and covering ourselves with white mud at the milky way.

Saw loads of turtles, sharks, and reef fish. Saw mantas twice at German channel (both times for the whole dive!) and on the second they swam around us constantly checking us out - the dive master said she had never experienced anything like it. At the end of the dive we were at our safety stop and one came up towards us as if to say goodbye - its all downhill from here! The island is pricey but the experience totally justifies it. Neco Marine were very professional.

Been to Palau many many time. I dive with a small business there www.palaudive.com which is operated by one of the best guides I've ever had, Keith Santillano. Keith knows where to find all the 'special fish' as he calls them.

Great diving but unfortunately no mantas. We were able to just drift along Ulong Channel and saw a huge variety of fish. Other great dives were the famous BLue Holes and Blue Corner but also Helmet Wreck and Chuyo Maru, both Japanese WWII boats. Highly recommended for a diving holiday but not much else to do except maybe a kayak tour on the final day before you fly!

We spotted a pod of spinner dolphins on the way to Ulong channel, they even swam with the boat for a while. The marine life is just incredible, don't miss the Napoleon Wrasse, just fantastic. Blue Corner was definitely my favorite, but I didn't make it out to Peleliu...next time I will. Also saw plenty of Jacks, snapper, barracuda, black tips, and white tips.

Can't wait to go back- Ocean Hunter was THE BEST!!!! Great food, great diving, no cattle expresses- just go to the stern, put on your BC, and do a giant step and you are there. Boat comes to you- get out, take off your BC and relax- they do it all for you! Carolines was a great place to stay- spent two days there- beautiful grounds and you can use PPR amenities including the pool and the beach. Can't wait to go back!!!

The best place ever. We went twice in 2001 and 2003 and stayed at The Carolines which has to be the best plave to stay...it was gorgeous, quiet, secluded with great views. We dived with Fish n Fins both times and will always use them whenever we go back...can't fault them.

This is the best wreck dive in Palau and, at 475 feet (145m), one of the largest. It sits upright in a sheltered lagoon close to Koror, and even closer to its sister ship the Sata - which lies upside-down at inaccessible depths. The Iro Maru was sunk on March 31, 1944 during Operation Desecrate - theres a huge torpedo hole through the bow section. |
