July 2007 The night dive in Kona is a must do! It is surreal. All the flashlights illuminate the water creating an eerie 'spacelike' glowing blue atmosphere. Then the mantas fly gracefully through the water above. Can't wait to do it again.

April 2008 Don't miss the Manta Ray night dive. Videos don't do it justice. The snorkelers even got a good show.

December 2004 The Manta Ray Night Dive is one of the worlds best overall dives. These huge creatures are acrobatic and majestic. We had 12 this night with 15 ft wing spans. I can't say enough about how cool this experience was.

January 2004 Nice diving even for the winter. The Manta night dive is an absolute must.

August 2004 Had great dives with Mike Severns on Maui...but also used Maui Dive shop who were considerably worse. If you are going to Maui, give Mike a try!!

April 2005 Super clear. Short hike to Red Sand Beach. Entry from protected cove. Needs good conditions as it is exposed. Wall drop off, small caves and boulders. Fair amount of fish. A few corals. No dive shop in Hana. Gear & air must be brought.

October 2004 Beautiful place, really chilled out diving. Worth the 24hr trip from Scotland! We dived with Big Island Divers, Kiluea Kona. Very professional service and great dive staff. Would go again tomorrow!

March 2001 Dove with Eco-Adventures (now out of business). Did some great diving, and spent an hour snorkeling with spinner dolphins in K Bay (Capt Cook Bay). Water was consistently 79 F. Apart from diving, there are several waterfall parks (free to the public) and of course, spend your last day at Kilauea Volcano Park. Stayed at the King Kamehameha in Kona, which is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shops. Saw my first hammerhead here, along with my first humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua'a (Hawaiian Triggefish).
