November 2001 before our Similan trip we spent 3 days at Ko Racha Yai. Great location to get off the hustling of Phuket.

January 2006 I've dived and lived in Thailand for almost 10 years and logged over 1500 dives in the Andaman sea. Highlights on the dives are sometimes Manta rays and the very occasional whale shark. Highlights for small fish : lots of ornate ghostpipefish, regularly tigertail seahorse, lots of small reeffish , endemic tomato clownfish.

February 2005 a great holiday destination with good diving, plenty to do ashore and very cheap to live when you get there

November 2005 Racha Noi and Racha Yai have a significant amount of coral damage, mainly due to dynamite fishing I suspect. Further afiend sites sich as Similan and Surin Islands are much better for coral and marine life. Took a liveaboard 4 days up to Ruchileau Rock. Very choppy seas, little calm. Vis down to 5m here, and much sediment. Vis much better on day boat diving out of Phuket. Would recommend Scuba Cat as friendly and professional. A great team.
