Pandora Entrance is 5k. northwest of Moulter Coy on the outer Great Barrier Reef 120k. off Cape York and 30-34m. deep. The wreck of the HMS Pandora was sunk after the Mutiny of the Bounty and survivors and escapees were captured by the boat and went aground on the reefs under Captain George Hamilton. It has relics at the Townsville Museum and is also half exposed from the sand sunken and can be seen on photo at other websites; see www.qmuseum.com.au, www.sensis.com.au, Shipwreck Diving search, and also see www.barrierreefaustralia.com. The weather of the Pacific is of course very calm at times; can be very rough and cold during winter or too rough in cyclonic periods.
