Omani Dive Centre really welcoming and friendly (didnt feel left out or anything despite having no buddy with me). Soon teamed up with Steffan, and we arranged to do all our week's diving together. Oman is nice easy diving, warm and little current. Absolutely pristine coral and teeming with sea life, very untouched. The taxi driver on the way back to the Chedi (very nice hotel!) asked me why our British Muslims were all so crazy, giving them all a bad name, he said.

I saw the review from 2006 about the diving near Oman being average. We went to the Daymaniat islands last year and it definitely was. Visibility is low, the reefs are Ok but there is a lot of fishing net in some areas. Saw amazing numbers of fish though, masses of morays and a couple of turtles. Enjoyed my trip but wouldn't go back.

Diving was very average - was disappointed as was expectung to be taken to the Damanyiat islands as promised but we were not. Still Oman is a great country with plenty else to offer if you like ancient cultures, deserts and off-roading

Oman is a lovely dive - learned to dive there in 2001 and have been back a couple of times since. Love it.

the cyclone had recently done it's worst when we arrived. The people & dive centre worked incredibly hard to rebuild the damage on land. The visibility was not good but we did see lemon shark, turtle, sea snakes & all the usual reef life. Take extra sun screen as the temperature was well over 40c.

Lots of Moray Eels of many different varieties. Fishes larger than their Red Sea equivalents, probably due to the plankton in the water, which in turn made the visibility poor. Large cuttlefish, stingrays, various nudibranches and lots of turtles.
Divemaster described dive route and competant divers allowed to dive with buddy. This allowed us to go at our own pace and investigate what we were interested in. Only once met another dive group so no difficulty in finding your boat when you surfaced.
