January 1998 Back in 1999 the diving was awesome, don't know if it has changed for the worse since. Used Deep Sea Divers Den which were very good. Also done a liveaboard with them. Plenty of thinhs to do in Cairns as well as taking a short trip up to Cape Tribulation.

August 2006 The visability around the island on the days we were diving was poor so not too much to report. It was our first unguided dive for me and my buddy, so it was quite exciting for that reason. Walking into the water off of an extensive coral beach and lstening to the waves turning the coral over was quite somthing. Very friendly people at the dive centre on the island. Cairns is an interesting place to visit with plenty to do.
