Went on BlackBeards liveaboard called the Sea Explorer. Had a great experience with up to 4 dives per day, including night dives. Crew were fantastic and made the whole experience.

I went diving around Bimini on Blackbeard's liveaboard which is an excellent operation. I thought the diving was varied enough to make each dive special. Lots of swim throughs, overhangs, walls and wrecks. The coral and fish life was great and always something interesting on each dive. Lobsters, caribbean reef sharks, rays, barracuda, nurse sharks, and all the usual suspect reef fish. Bull run is a beautiful dive site. We had one night in the port of Bimini which was so much fun. The Complete Angler pub is not to be missed.

Bimini is a wonderful place to relax. The diving is really wonderful if come via a live aboard. the diving operations there are small so don' expect miracles. To see the really great dives live aboards is the way to go. The end of the world is wonderful little bar operated by Sarah and has been featured on the travle channel. She has the best conch salad in the bahama's and her fritters are not shabby either. If you want to relax with palms and water in the background drink a few beers and chill with the locals this is the place to be. If you are looking for excitement Bimini is not for you. It is a simple little slice of heaven that Hemingway found and enjoyed also. The history here is wonderful along with the stories.

The dive operation we went with....Scuba Bimini.........was very poor. Our boat had black smoke pouring out the back and bad steering, which on one dive, went out,...........we waited for 2 hours while a boat came out to bring us back to shore. I have been to Bimini before with this same dive operation, but would not come back because of them.

Hurricanes were not nice to Bimini. Reefs beat up, broken and sanded over. Did see a sea horse though (attached to the dock at Bimini Big Game Club). Diving was underwhelming. Island has little other activities except fishing (which is excellent).
