Sponge Gardens are deep but in my opinion worthwhile. I think S. Padre is also good for families to just enjoy the beach activities. Lots of diving is deep so water is usually clear, but not perfectly crystal crystal clear.

There is a big variety of marine life here. There is also snorkeling for non scuba divers.

Dona Nelly and the Sponge Gardens are great. Kind of deep, but still enjoyable.

For a relatively new reef, I am surprised by how much fish and marine growth has occured on the Dona Nelly. It a wreck from 85- about 130/5 ft.

South Padre is a blast. I've just recently been going and I don't mind going back there. It's a very fun place to swim, shop, and scuba.

Good place to vacation and dive. Most dives are offshore and usually need a boat to access. Great place for kids and adults of all ages. Good weather common. Very warm water (85 degrees or more in summer). Short drive from Mexican border.

Decent wreck. Deep compared to most diving spots around the world. Be carefull of jellyfish when onshore. Usually not a problem, but can come in large amounts.
