December 2007 Rainbow River is a nice drift dive, although if you get dropped off near the spring head it is a long dive as it took us nearly 2 hours to get back to the dock. The top of the river near the springs was definitely the best vis and it got a bit cloudy the further down we went. Lots of ups and downs, sometimes you had to snorkel over the reeds before you found deeper water again. Look out for Alligators! :)

January 1998 Devils Den The Grotto, and Peacock are all fabulous springs. The facilities that all these locations had to offer made for great family camping as well as diving.

April 2006 I went to High Springs to do Cavern and Intro Cave (NACD), advanced nitrox and deco procedures (TDI). My instructor was a chap called Jim Wyatt instructor 28 with NACD. He was excellent and is a well known and highly respected instructor in teh area. The diving was superb, though a little scary when way back in the cave zone, beyond any natural light coming from the entrance. The water was crystal clear, especially at Ginnie Springs which includes the Devils Eye/Ear systems. These were magnitude 1 high flow springs and hard work finning or pulling yourself along walls against the current. Peacock and Orange grove were my favourite dive sites with little or no flow. Peacock had some very large and impressive rooms but to get to them there were some tight squeezes to get through. Exceelnt experience. Not much to do if you're not diving.

May 2005 Ginnie contains many springs. The main spring has overhead that is considered safe for OW diver providing you follow their rules. The Cave system has cave divers from all over the world visiting it. It is not for OW diver although providing they do not carry lights they can swim down toward the cavern zone but not enter it. Always dive only to your curent training level and it a pretty safe system. Nice facilities and worht a visit. Weekends tend to be very crowded in the summer so weekdays are a better choice. Non divers can tub the river and swim in the springs.
