Have dived with Buceo Costa Nerja several times, really good, friendly and safety conscious dive centre. Although there is little large life around there are still lots of fish and we've really enjoyed our dives. The sites are mostly in the national park with decent clean water.

The stretch of coastline from Nerja, upto and including Marina Del Este, is where the sierra almijara mountains drop into the sea. And due to this there are some great dive sites. The majority of them have to be done from boat (try either of the dive centres in Nerja or Marina Del Este) although you can do shore dives from La Herradura or Marina Del Este. This part of the Med is not overflowing with marine life, but there is still a lot to see, especially if you take your time. What makes this a special place to dive is it's calm, clear, warm waters and some good dive sites from 12 mtrs to 40 mtrs plus(punta dela mona).

I had a great time diving here. The locals were great despite previous comments.

this area exceeded all my expectations. I am aware of the bad rep the med has but i made 9 dives in six days and the marine life was exceptional. We saw sun fish, loads of squid and octopuses, dolphins from the boat - too much life to list. A great experience and recommended.

Water temperature about 14 degrees. This is the begining of the breeding season for Cuttlefish and squid. The new National Park is developing well and some new species are starting to inhabit the area. An up and coming area well worth visiting

spanish authorities very muddled as to where you can and cannot dive. need loads of insurances, licenses etc. too much red tape and bullshit and the diving is not worth the effort. this part of spain is trying very hard to kill off the foreign run diving shops in favour of spanish dive shops. these are shodily run, very unfreindly, rip off and lack any safety aspects. better off diving in Gibraltar !
