January 2009 Shelley Beach is probably one of the better dives in Sydney, however there are far better places in the world. Only bother if you are desperate for a dive or haven't been before.

January 2007 Saw wobbegongs, weedy sea dragons, octopus, stingrays, gropers, goatfish, nudibranchs, sunken motorbike.

October 2006 Saw four weedy seadragons, white nudibranchs, eastern blue groper, black reef leatherjackets but too cold at 17C.

January 2004 One of the best dive spots in my opinion is Magic Point -- otherwise known as 'the shark dive.' There is a school of Grey Nurse sharks that hang out under an overhang south of South Head. They aren't there all the time, so ask your local operator when the last sightings have been. Last time I did Magic Point (Feb of '03) there were at least 8 sharks swimming about. Camp Cove is a good place for seadragons and octopus and cuttlefish. Although I haven't dived with them, I purchased most of my gear at Dive 2000 in Neutral Bay -- they gave great recommendations and didn't oversell me on frills I didn't need. I would recommend them to anyone looking for gear.

March 2006 Dived at Bare Island, with deep 6 Dive, Clovelly, Gordon's Bay, and Manly, Shelly Beach (with Dive Manly). Saw tassled and spotted wobbegongs, Port Jackson shark, weedy sea dragons and huge blue gropers among the highlights. Water temp was 24 degrees in March. Plenty scope for doing your own shore dives if you don't want to go with a dive operation. Good snorkelling too.

March 2005 A bit disappointing after Jervis Bay but only did two dives with Pro Dive. Saw lots of cuttlefish, and what we wanted to see - a wobbegong and weedy seadragon.
