Returned to do Yapak 2 and ended up doing it twice because of poor visibility the first time. Lots of current and a few reef sharks about. Crocodile Island and Coral Garden were also lovely dives. Did a photography specialty which was a lot of fun. Boracay is always fun. Love the food and the beach! New Wave Divers were great as usual and had a day with Sea Gaia as well. They were also good.

Many different dive shops to choose from. I dived with Boracay Safari divers and was very pleased with them. Plenty of nightlife available and good places to drink so a good island for a holiday for young people. The island is over developed but still a good place.

Did my Deep specialty with Jon-Jon Suarez from New Wave Divers. He was an excellent instructor - extremely positive and thorough. Unfortunately my dive at Yapak 2 (purportedly Boracay's best dive) was marred by me not being able to equalise easily so by the time we got to 30 metres the current had taken us past the best part of the wall. That's one for next time! Yapak 1 the following day along with the Camia wreck and Crocodile Island were all very enjoyable, and very different dives. Lots of reef fish, eagle rays and a huge green turtle. Also lots of little jellyfish this time of the year as well, so best to be covered. No nasties though. New Wave Divers was a very minimalist, no frills operation but excellent to dive with. Boracay a beautiful place and very family friendly. Would love to go back!

Boracay is becoming Asia's new Goa... The magic is still there, but for how long? I used to know an island where 'concrete' was unknown... Nowadays it's turning into a crowded marine mall. Sayang...

My Best dive ever is so far the Yapak 2! A difficult dive sometimes with alot of dive but very spectacular. You make a negative entry and swim towards the wall which suddenly opened up and schools of fish were swarming around you. An abundance of red tooth triggerfish, Tuna, Longnosed emperor, sweetlips, bannerfish and batfish. The area was also patrolled by several titan triggerfish. We were also suprised by seeing a turtle resting on the reef. The other sites on boracay are ok. Crocodile Island had the best corals and saw many different interesting macro life. Nuddibranches, Frogfish, ribbon eel, scorpion fish. New wave divers gets my highest recommendation. Owner Mike dived with us every time and showed us tons of interesting stuff. We also rented his camera and some pictures can be seen in my gallery (taken at Crocodile Island). Besides the diving I really dislike the place. Way to commercial for my taste. Tried their golf course though which is of international standard.

Boracay is a busy tourist destination and is being further developed all the time. At the end of May it was full of Philippinos on their summer holidays. There were, however, very few divers and my buddy and I had the dive sites all to ourselves. The guide from Dive Gurus was very informative and helpful and we found the diving very enjoyable, if not spectacular.

I've experience 11 very good dives in diferent places with the only problem the low visibilty because of the season. Generaly I think that the best time to be in Boracay is during spring time especially in March were the visibility is very good 40m. The guys in Calypso Diving Center were very helpfull and willing to provide you with all that you need to enjoy the dives.

For us, the resort was horribly over-commercialised and fairly boring on over-dived reefs, and we were sheperded by dive guides who wouldn't even let us stop for photos in our own time! Nor did they find anything worth looking at. Not an experience to repeat!
