Gran Canaria is not a place you would first think about if you were going on a dive holiday, but you will be shocked at the amount of marine life there. Every dive you will see massive amounts of marine life!
The visibility is very good and the water temperture is around 22-24 all year round. There are some great dives in the south including wreck and reefs. In the East there is the Marine Reserve called El Cabron which is one of only three in the Canary Islands. In the North there are also lots of wreck and reefs to see.
Gran Canaria is very easy to get too with flights most days from the U.K which are very cheap!!. Flight time is only 4 hours so your not losing half your holiday travelling.
Marine life you will see includes Angle Sharks (in the winter), Logger Head Turtels, Comman Rays, Sting Rays, Bottle Nose Dolphin, Octopus, Cuttlefish, Morays, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, Parrot fish, Groupers, Puffers, Sea Horses and many more reef fish.
Theres also lots of other things to do in Gran Canaria from the water parks, jeep safri's, sky diving, go karting, wild west show towns, zoo with amazing bird shows, rain forrests in the north, festivals, beatiful beachs, but you can still find somewhere to relax and catch the all year round sunshine if thats what you prefer..
