July 1999 Went out on a boat that was packed with divers - the French take their diving seriously! Not a great deal to see underwater, but some nice fish occasionally

Wreck Dives:

Here are the wreck dives we know of for Hyers Islands.

Rubis Submarine
Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews Ranked as Awesome by independant reviews
The Rubis is a 66 metre long submarine. She was launched in 1931 and was used to great effect by the free French Navy to lay mines during the Second World War. This is a great wreck and has a lot to offer, though only suitable for Advanced Divers and above. The site is reasonably exposed to the weather so anything but an offshore wind should be avoided. The site is also tidal so you must dive on slack water.
35m / 115ft
42m / 138ft
Deliberately sunk: 31-Jan-1958 Wreck penetration is possible. Technical or decompression diving. More info...
