Grenada: The Spice Isle.

Forget about the spices this is all about the wrecks. Having dived extensively throughout the Caribbean I though I knew about diving in this part of the World until we hit Grenada. This has to be one of the best wreck diving destinations around, bath-like temperatures, crystal clear waters, wrecks that will astound and aquatic life that will delight.

It is fair to say that Grenada's wrecks are not for the novice, the Bianca C is an Advanced dive due to its depth and the King Mitch due to its location, however if you have the qualification and like your dive sites metallic this is the destination for you.

The dive guides are as knowledgable as you could wish for and as laid back as a true Grenadian should be. The island is beautiful both above and below the water and the climate is as near to perfect as you can get.

Fish wise expect the usual Caribbean suspects plus more Nurse sharks than you could shake a stick at and should you get bored with the wrecks (Bianca C, Shakem, King Mitch, Shark wreck et al) then you turn your attentions to the drift diving and shallow reef systems which are available.

As with all Caribbean destinations special care should be taken to avoid the hurricane season, for whilst Grenada lies South of the 'belt' everyone will remember what happened in 2004.

Getting to Grenada from the UK is a long haul, however I am sure you will agree that the diving more than justifies the time spent getting there.
