Tobago is a Boat dive Island, being on the atlantic side can be really difficult if you have trouble with seasickness, the sea can be quite rough and most of the boats on tobago are very small.
What is the diving like? Speyside was affected by the hurricanes of last year 2004 this is visible under and above the water, a lot of the hard corals had sand on them and soft corals were damaged, but still some great colourful corals to see including the biggest brain coral in the world?? What else is there to do?? Hire a jeep a car will have problems with the roads potholes are enourmous!!! Tobago has some excellent beaches real secluded bays where you have that shipwrecked feeling, the rainforest is worth a visit but don't forget why its called a rain forest, Tobago has a lot of excellent waterfalls which are worth a visit and a quick dip to cool of. Warning be careful when driving around the island for people who run in front of your car causing you to break then they jump on the back and try to climb in while shouting out there offers of guides to the falls.
How easy is it to get to? From Holland it is easy to get there flight is around 13 1/2 hours but it is along stop on Isla de Magrita during refuel and passenger pick and drop off.
What fish and reefs will I see? Turtles, angel fish, moray eels, lobsters, hammerhead sharks, reefsharks, trumpet fish, box fish, nearly all dives are drift dives and some are not for the faint hearted!!
Are there any famous things to look out for or a special time of the year to go? Being the caribean tha weather is good all year round we were there in december for christmas and sufferd a couple of days of rain
Are there any special travel tips you could provide? dont forget your travel plug! being an island import items are quite expensive. Be prepared to queue at petrol stations and don't forget there aren't many on the island
Conclusion well worth a visit
