St. Abbs

Had a great dive in st.Abbs last year, it had been pretty calm for a few days and the visibility was 20 meters +, not saying it will always be like that but it was when I went... ;0). The dive itself was fantastic, lots of rock holes to go through and loads of anemonies and starfish... One of the best dives I have ever had, I really had a great time. Stayed at the st.Vedas hotel, great accomodation overlooking a gorgeous beach, well worth a visit!
There isn't a great deal to do there, but they have some good beaches and if the weather is good you can go for a swim, nice sandy beaches and lots of souvenier shops!

Some nice easy dives for new divers and more changellenging ones for the more experienced.

St.Abbs is situated just 15 mins east of the A1 and is easilly accessible. There are loads of shore dives from the picturesque cathedral rock, to the training dive around seagull rock. 4 or 5 dive boats are working out of St.Abbs harbour all weekend and a number through the week. Black Carrs are famous for its plentiful wolffish. All around this marine reserve marine life is teeming; lobsters, ballan wrasse, goldsinny wrasse, pipefish, octopii, pollack, cod, mackeral, seals, porpoises, bottlenose dolphins, congers, ling, d.m.f, dahliaand plumrose anenomes. Its got the lot, and a couple of wrecks as well! The alfred earlson, glanmire, vigilant and peanut boat. Have a look up there, its fantastic.
