Puget Sound and its sister body of water, Hood Canal, offer some of the finest diving in the US. The sound is rife with invertebrate life. There are an abundance of Giant octopus, Wolf eel, Anemone, Starfish, Crab, Shrimp, Nudibranchs, and Sea pens. The water may be cold, but the pay-off is magnificent.

The major city serving Puget Sound is Seattle. Seattle is a vibrant city filled with active people. It is situated between the mountains and the ocean. You can ski in the morning and scuba in the afternoon. There are many operators serving the area from Olympia in the south, to the San Juan Islands in the north. There are many excellent shore dives available, but there are day boats available as well.

British Columbia, our Canadian neighbor to the north, is always picked as the best diving in North America. We have the same water and critters here. Bring your dry suit and give it a try.
