What's the diving like in Mexico (west)
[edit]
The sea of cortez is an amazing nursery. You can see anything from pods of orcas to humbolt squid ! there are the largest seahorses in the world - 6-8 inchs. there are playful sealions that dive with you... there are eels and octopus and amazing fish- damsels, triggers, grunts, and bigger. . it is an amazing place to dive summer and winter. .water temp ranges from 58-63 in Jan /Feb and high 80 to low 90's in the summer. Lots of great spots to go but I would recommend starting at San Carlos ( airports nearby at Hermosillo and Guaymas) and working south from there there are operators that will take you across to the Baja to Tortuga from there for a day trip, or arrange for trips further south like La Paz or Socorroc Island.
Is the above OK? Why not edit it if you can do better!
