      Overall summary of Cuba
Very nice place for a holiday whether you are a diver or not. The main hotels on the complexes are well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. There is plenty to do other than diving. The weather in August is hot, up in to the late 40s, so take your sunblock.

What's the diving like in Cuba
I have visited Cuba twice. The first time I went to Jibacoa the second was to Guadalavaca. The diving at both towns was excellent with plenty of individual dives site to visit. Plenty of marine life above 30m some good peligic fish as well. The water in August is warm and very clear. Both of these sites are on the northern side of the island.

Spent two weks here in the summer of 2004 and whilst here did my open water diver training. Did four ocean dives in clear warm water. Only problem was mosquitoes which attacked at every opportunity. Saw many fish Barracuda. Moray eel Nurse Shar...

I was there in July 2006. I have many dives in my log-book from Cuba and these were my best dives in Cuba. Reef is in excellent shape, lots of corals. I saw few sharks (not typical for Cuba). Visibility was typical for Cuba, not so great. Dive cent...

Very good for diving. Managed 8 dives in 14 days whilst doing other trips as well. Only repeated one dive. Becuase we visited in August the water temp was great. 30 deg C at sea surface and 23/24 deg C at 30 metres. The best 2 dives are 'The...

Isle Of Youth
Diving and snorkeling is really good. Actually, it depends in what area you do it. The isle is divided into two main areas: northern and southern. On the north you'll find that even on land the flora is completely different from the south. Under wate...

Fantastic diving off the southern coast of Cuba! Must be done from liveaboards - little else to do here save for diving and fishing. It's all about the sharks - diving with huge schools of Caribbean Reef Sharks and in the other channel very curio...

What a fantastic place to dive. Visited Jibacoa in August 2003 and stopped at what was then the Super Club Breezes resort. Dive sites are many and varied. The Trenches site are channels of coral formations with both reef and palegic fish. The Triangl...

Maria La Gorda
Crystal clear warm waters. many dive sites close to the dive centre, max travel time 30 mins. Diving seems to be mainly wall dives, with many swim throughs and caves. It is a remote spot with only one place to stay (about 40 rooms) and therefor...

All dives are from a new motorboat however it is not really suited to divers. There is only one operator here, that books up early and cannot manage their books too well. We were dissapointed by an over booking one day, and the following day when we ...

Fantastic dive location, warm water 34 degrees c!! and excellent vis. All diving appears to be run by the same company (due to communism in Cuba) and they are not as professional as dive centres in the uk. I did 4 dives in total, two on the shore r...
