First time upload help:

1. When you click on the above "Browse" button, a windows explorer box will appear that will allow you to look for photos to load up to your My Blue Planet photo gallery. Please make sure that you only select JPEG image files - any other choice will mean the whole load will be rejected. You can select as many files as you like using the Ctrl or Shift keys and upload them in one go so long as they are in the same directory (tip: we find it speeds everything up if you collect all the photos you want to load up into a single directory on your computer before you start).

2. When you start the upload, the first thing that happens is that we resize all your images to fit a maximum resolution of 700 by 700 pixels. This both speeds up the upload but also means you do not have to worry about picking a monster file and losing all your 5Mb space - we will make the image as efficient as possible and this means you should be able to get about 100 images into My Blue Planet.

3. Once the resizing has been completed, we start the upload, you should see a progress window that shows you each image as it is transfered. While all this is going on, let it fully complete, or some images may not fully transfer. You will know that it is complete, because the screen will automatically refresh and you will be looking at your photo gallery - this can take a few moments while the Big Blue Planet website is saving your photos to your own dedicated area, so be patient!

4. And that's it! Now you can start creating albums to share your photos with family and friends or even other Big Blue Planet visitors - when first uploaded, every photo is regarded as private, and only you can see it.
