The first German submarine sunk in American waters, its dubbed the Wild Boar. When it was sunk it was riddled with gun fire and shattered by depth charges. The outer hall has been peeled away and replaced with soft corals and algae. She lies in 100 feet of water with its conning tower reaching to 80 feet. This wreck lies in cooler waters and strong currents with visibility only about 30 feet.
Deep at 140 feet to the sand, the wreck is a perfect spot for photos and to get a good feel for more technical sub dives found elsewhere. Date posted: 29-Mar-2007 14:52 by: don who thought that:

Great wreck. You can see the hole in the conning tower where she was hit. The deck gun is still there pointing up. (It was a surface action.) The outer hull is gone but it reveals the live torpedoes that were stored there. Date posted: 25-Jul-2006 19:48 by: glynneco who thought that:
