It was an error by the New Zealand pilot that led to this 22,000 ton Soviet cruise ship striking the rocks in 1986. The wreck now lies in the sheltered water of Port Gore in 40m. Theres lots to explore from basic open water to technical wreck penetration.

Last 10 Diver reviews for Mikhael Lermontov:
loads of easy penetration of the wreck. Visibility is generally low (5m) but can be fantastic during october. Lots to explore and at a nice depth. Can be difficult to get there as it takes a little over an hour by boat and though the location is sheltered, the journey isn't.
