Scarlet Ibis (M V Maverick)

Sunk in April 1997, the MV Scarlet Ibis, later renamed the MV Maverick, is a 108 metre (350ft) auto ferry that spent its first life carrying passengers, vehicles and cargo between Port of Spain, Trinidad and Scarborough, Tobago.

Easy dive, although current and visibility can be variable. Good cover of soft coral now. Easy and safe access to various decks, and if you are few in number and have reasonable buoyancy control the engine compartment is worth a visit. 30m deep, so watch deco time. This was a great wreck dive. We did our dives with Wild Turtle Dive - the first one was a slow deep dive to the bottom and keel...the nest dive was to the deck level only and we leisurely swam around it.
