Lembeh is awesome. I could spend ten minutes listing the rare creatures we saw, but the highlights were a hairy octopus, Lembeh Velvetfish and Lembeh Seadragons.
I can't belief I am writing this, but we got bored of seahorses, frogfish, pygmy seahorses, flamboyany cuttlefish, Wunderpuss Octopus and Mimic Octopus. Where else in the world is that possible?

Still excellent but not as good as the 2007 trip we did. Although I was only here for 3 days this time so maybe I just needed time for my critter eyes to kick in ;) Stayed at Lembeh Resort again (which is excellent), and I will be going back.

Macro lovers paradise! Muck diving at its best. You dive down and wonder what all the fuss is about (because the place looks dead & barron until the guide starts to find all manners of tiny weird and wonderful creatures! Stayed at Lembeh Resort (which is excellent), and I will be going back.

It was our fourth trip to Manado. Stayed at Bahowo Lodge in small village with Phil and Paula an english couple that we met several years ago. They had helped to set up my daughters Medical Elective trip in 5 year of medical degree. The lodge has approx 10 rooms and a pools. It is a great place to stay.

Dove with Two Fish Divers and spent 3 days at Bunaken (wall dives with lots of fish, turtles, some sharks, coral, & a crocodilefish) and 3 days in Lembeh Straights. Awesome muck diving at Lembeh! (saw the lembeh dragaon, rhinopias, many different types of scorpionfish, frogfish, hairy frogfish, TONS of beautiful nudibranchs >20different types, wonderpus, blue spotted octopus, blue spotted stingrays, leaf scorpionfish, stargazers, mandarine fish, harlequin ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorse, flambouyant cuttlefish, sea moths, flounders, pipe fish, cardinal fish, decorator crabs, ribbon eels (lionfish and porcupine fish were a dime a dozen) etc. etc...Who would have thought you could find all that cool stuff in black sand??? MUST DO: night dives in Lembeh! Just watch out for the small jellyfish--ouch! Our only complaint was that the food wasn't very good--but the diving made up for it : )

Great diving there, special with Bangka and Lembeh close by. I chose Thalassa for its great service and vicinity to the dive sites! Normally you stay on the boat the whole, just to make 2 dives... With Thalassa you come back to the dive center after every dive. For me this flexibility is great: it's eas to clean the camera... Just go there!

| The steel-hulled Dutch merchant ship that sunk in 1942, lies at a depth of 35m-40m on a sandy slope. The ships open hull is easily accessible for divers. The wreck has become the habitat for grouper, trevallies, crocodile fish, wrasse and schools of surgeon and unicorn fish besides beautiful soft corals decorating the deck and railings. |
